About the Library
Our college library building was opened on 29.09.1980 by His Excellency Sri. Prabhudas Patwari, the then Governor of Tamil Nadu, under the presidentship of late Sri. A.G. Subburaman M.P. The library functions on a computerized basis and serves the needs of students across various disciplines. All students and staff of Sourashtra College are members of the library.
A total of 61,500 books and 9 newspapers across various disciplines are available. Open access system is followed, and a Barcoding System handles book issue, return, and renewal for research scholars, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and staff.

Library User Rules
- All enrolled students are members of the Central Library; teaching and non-teaching staff also use library facilities
- Open Access System โ users can enter the stack room and choose books freely
- Books borrowed through ROVAN LMS (Library Management Software)
- UG students: 3 books; PG students: 4 books at a time, for 15 days
- Late fine: โน1/day for the belated period
- Lost book/journal: 3ร actual cost + fine, or replace with latest edition
- Staff can borrow 10 books per semester, plus non-current journals/magazines
- Books can be retained and extended during examinations
Rules & Regulations
- Keep silence in the library area
- Entry permitted with ID card only
- Scan your ID while entering and leaving
- Do not bring personal belongings inside
- Return borrowed books on or before the due date
- Overdue charges apply after the due date
- Report loss of books to the librarian immediately
- Pay cost as per government norms if unable to replace a lost book
- Do not misplace, tamper, tear, or mark the books
